Nanny Taxes
Nanny taxes can be challenging!
Don’t know where to start? We’re here to help!
Should I give my nanny a 1099 or a W2?
According to the IRS, nannies and household staff are legally required to be given a W2 because they work in your home, follow your parenting directions, and are scheduled the hours that you need them.
But my accountant said I could give my nanny a 1099!
We totally believe you! We’ve heard that before. Unfortunately, not all accountants are well versed on nanny/household staff tax laws, which results in many families receiving the wrong information. We provide families with the most up to date and accurate information, so you can do things correctly!
